Carrier, Bryant, Trane, Lennox, Rheem, American and many more brands that have lots of features but minimal locations and access to warranty parts, most customers look for these brands do to heavy marketing but for the most part with out properly trained technicians these brands dont get sold. 750 to 1,000 sq ft: 2 tons
1,050 to 1,400 sq ft: 2.5 tons
1,450 to 1,700 sq ft: 3 tons
1,750 to 1,900 sq ft: 3.5 tons
1,950 to 2,200 sq ft: 4 tons
2,250+ sq ft: 5 tons
12,000 btu is equal to 1 ton af Air conditioning and 400 square feet to 1

I always recommend getting for estimates for all air conditioner replacement, air conditioner repair, heater replacement, heater repair, and most major decisions for any home improvement do to the saturation of contractors in the home repair and maintenance. Rather it be air conditioning, cabinets, remodeling, and new construction choices can be tough and time consuming but can save you 10's and 1000's $$.
